Art Practice - May '19

Katie wanted to sew a dress - so even though it was a day where I didn't want to, we made it happen. (not that I'm a seamstress, or a good mama - I lost it with this dress, as I had to redo it a couple times and it wasn't the best timing)
But we did it! She got a dress, Katy learned a bit, and I realized that my sewing machine needs to be thrown away!

Also in the artistic area- the kids started learning from a youtube channel on drawing. (Here's the Art Channel if you wanna check it out!) They thought it was great fun, and I did a few times while making dinner - kept them all busy and quiet. :)

Cutie Eyes - May '19

Oh my little darling boy.
As soon as his bandages, casts, and would vac was off, he started walking like crazy. It was pretty neat to see.
And he thought these glasses were great fun. :)

You bring so much life to our lives Jason.

The Boy and His Food - April '9

This spring, this kid had started to down the food... and he would just make peanut butter and jam sandwiches whenever he was hungry. I loved it actually - it was so boyish.

Then he started to make bread more - and now can whip it up in the bread maker whenever. James set him all up with the recipe, ingredients and all downstairs in the laundry. I'll often wake up to hearing the bread maker going in the morning - as he is either making it for lunch, or to give to someone if we're visiting someone's house.
Proud of this kid.

Like her Grandma - April '19

Getting ready for church and had to take some pictures of just her.
She actually looks a lot like my mom - Grandma Fehr - did at her age. Same cuteness. :)

Tiny feet - and tiny boots.

Then it was time for all the girls to get in there.
So blessed to have these four girls.

Chronicles of Narnia - April '19

I took the  4 kids and Hudson and Avia to go see the first "Chronicles of Narnia" - "The Magicians Nephew". It was super fun, and so nice to get out of the house. The kids all loved it.
They had put on "The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe a year ago, and the kiddos had really liked that one.
Two buddies.
In the intermission all the kids got ring pops from the church - (along with snacks they gave out) A perfect treat for this play.
With the Wicked Witch. :)
With Polly and Digorey.
And with Aslan. :)
Good memories and a great job done by West Highland Church in Hamilton.

Spring Park Fun - April '19

Spring kept coming closer and closer... and with sweet Amber coming to lend a hand one afternoon, I sent her to the park with the kids, and joined her a bit later.

The crew - Jason with a sock around his leg as this was during all the surgeries.
Sure appreciate this girl. And to think it's the end of high school soon and hello nursing programs!
She's loved all of my kiddos so well.

Peter & the Wolf - and Slushie's & a Hot Tub - April '19

Katie and I went with her MYC music class to Kitchener to go to hear "Peter and the Wolf" by the Kitchener Symphony. Before the concert, there was a bunch of things for kids to do - a family day - so instruments to try, music stuff to see, and face painting etc.

Before it began...
A fun afternoon together with her music friends.
Then after we got home, the kids got changed and we went off to celebrate the kid's finishing learning 1 Peter 2. We give them some type of reward after they finish a chapter in the Bible - ice-cream sometimes, or a family experience - and this time it was slushies and a dip in Uncle William's hot tub... since he was gone. ;) (but gave us permission!)
It was still kinda cold and no other shoes available, so it was shorts and boots to go into Mac's convenience store and buy slushies.... :) Us typical homeschoolers!
The kids enjoyed the dip in the hot tub with the cool spring air. And I stayed inside with the little Jason as he couldn't get wet yet with his leg healing. Good times for everyone.
