Turning Four

Our sweet little guy turned four!

He got his breakfast in bed - on our floor - which has been becoming a special place to sleep in the middle of the night, as dreams, and coughing spells have been more difficult lately. 

Some friends stopped by for a bit - Rachel, Adrianna and Marinna (she was visiting from South Africa) which was nice for the kiddos, as well as for me.

He had a lovely day, and Auntie Nel, Uncle Mark and Uncle Rob came for supper, then James,  Erik and Katy met up with the Johnson gang at the skating rink at our park. Afterwards they all came back for some cake and hot chocolate. 

As he is still all about excavators, tractors, and anything with wheels, he got a construction cake. 

Super easy, and fun to make. :) And he liked it too.

Blessed little kid!

A few weeks back, I asked Erik who he would like for his birthday, and he said some kids, and "oh yeah, some adults too, cause adults bring presents."

At last, I got Erik's 2-year old "present" picture. :)

The tool building workset was a gift from some friends in our church that were finished with it. Perfect for this kid!

Counting to 10

Loves "Dora" (Laura)

Almost can put his shoes on alone

Dutifully puts garbage away for me

Speaking in sentences.

(and almost everything above is because he is a second born. He learns from Katelyn!)

Erik's birthday was on a Sunday, so it was more of a busy day.

After church we went to Brad and Diane's for lunch with most of the family.

Blowing out his candles.

 And the lucky boy got presents! He got a sweater and tractor from Oma and Opa. (that was super awesome!) and some great shoes from Deanna and Ben, and a baseball glove and candy from Rob.

Talking to Grandpa and Grandma on the phone - after they sang happy birthday to him. 

Thrilled with his train card from the Fisher Family! 

Opening his cool hot wheels cars from Auntie Anne-Marie, to go along with the car mat she gave him at Christmas.  He also got a Home Depot workshop play set - from a family in our church who didn't need it anymore. That was one blessed boy!

And now he's two. :)

One Year Old!

Look who's one! :)

And yes, he's been one for more than a month already.

But he's still one, and that's what matters!

 And he's still so cute.

"Am I really cute mommy? Or are you just saying that?"

" Okay, I'm cute"

 "But I am sooo done with this bear. 12 months of sitting by a stuffed bear will do something to any guy."

With his birthday gifts. :) Blessed boy!

Erik's latest and greatest:

-Going down the stairs at last. (first time he tried was at the Windmill (home) stairs.)

-Twirling around

-Gives kisses

-Gets SO excited when he sees his snowsuit come out of the closet

-Is all weaned (at 12.5 months)

-Points to what he wants

-Gets the cheerios out of the cupboard when he is hungry.

Eleven Months!!

The boy is 11 months. :)

And this time, I'm not only late in posting, I'm late in taking his picture. He's one week shy from his 1st birthday, and we took his 11 monther. :)

Oh well. That's life.

 We love watching his expressions, and his personality come out.

This is what we were doing to keep him entertained: throwing balloons back and forth. It worked too.

Erik's latest and greatest:

Started walking at 10 1/2 months

Keeps jabbering, and almost getting a word in there.

Loves to climb onto objects now. And gets stuck. And calls for help. :)

He's a carnivore - but a cute one at that.

Adores wheels, but that's not really new. :)

Ten Months!

I know...I'm late.

He really is 11 months by now.

But, in my defense, this picture was taken at 10 months, so we're all good. :)

Erik's Latest and Greatests:

-Climbing stairs. All day.

(But he doesn't know how to get down, and has a healthy fear of falling. :)

So, up. and. down. I go. All day. :)

-Four Teeth

-Loves to play with balls and cars

-Took his 1st steps November 21st.

-Has a hard time sitting still for a picture :)

Nine Months!!

The chubbers is back...and still so squishable.

(especially when's he quiet!)

Erik's latests:

-A few more "words" - gaa, gaa, daa, daa - added to his vocabulary

-Eating more foods (cheerios, bread...)

-Enjoying different toys

Eight Months

The chubbers at yet another month.

Erik's latest and greatest:

Enjoying more diverse types of veggies and fruits (avocado, carrots, oatmeal & more)

Weighs in at more than 22 lbs.

Loves bouncing on the trampoline

Starting to cuddle more before/after sleep time

Dances to music

Adores watching and laughing with Katelyn

Played peek-a-boo on his own. (pulled the blanket over his head over and over to my "peek-a-boo".
It was terribly cute!)

Gets into lots of stuff.... :)

But life is soo fun. (most of the time)

Seven Months!

Yup - we're at Seven Months (or seven and a half months by now...)

Erik's Latests:

Two teeth (with more on the way)

Pulls himself up onto furniture

Crawls - but backwards

Says 'baa baa'



Six Months!

Honestly, it's been six months. I still was saying "he's 5 1/2 months old" last week...I guess I've been holding onto that 1/2 a month. But he continues to grown, to cry, to laugh, and to be cute. :)
Thankful for our little man.

Erik's latest and greatest:
Rolling onto his tummy and waking up in the night
Screeching when he's happy (and when he's not!)
Now into a bigger car seat - goodbye bucket seat - still rear facing :)

Five Months

Another month has gone by...and this guy keeps getting bigger...and happier. :)

Erik's latest accomplishments:
Sitting up all by himself
Rolling over
Had his first banana taste.

It's so neat to see how Katelyn and Erik are enjoying each other more. Special times.

Four Months!

We're at four months already...

...and just as cute as possible. :)
He's almost done with the extra fussyness, which is awesome. And I'm almost all recovered from month and a half of nursing pain....so thankful. God is just blessing us greatly. :)
