Start of Summer Days

At last... I can send the kids out in shorts and barefeet, and they can enjoy the warm, humid summer days!
My little boy - having a great time with a neighbors scooter. That kid has got incredible balance.
One of Laura's normal looks... :)
And another of her normal looks. She is such a cutie.
The other day she comes down the stairs saying "Where's Daddy" - holding her hands out in question... of course it sounded more like "whas Daddy?" - but so cute to hear starting to ask questions and say sentences.
And she was okay with knowing Daddy was at work.:)

Glenda's 50th Party

Dear Glenda was turning 50 this year, so a few of us friends got to together to plan a surprise party for this special woman. :) It was arranged that I would have her come to my house for dinner, the day after her exact birthday, where a small group of friends would be waiting. :)
And hooray! She was totally surprised. A fuzzy picture, but you can see her surprise. :)
We just visited for a bit, and then Debbie brought over an amazing Chinese dinner for us all!
Then a chocolate cake, and other snack foods later on.
Then we played a bunch of "Headbandz" the iphone way - it was absolutely grand. I LOVE party games, but have only been able to have a few really great game times in quite a few years. Lots of laughing was done by us all.
Some of the group.
Truly thankful for Glenda and her friendship in my life. Sure love this woman. She is a great encourager, server, and one who truly cares about other's needs, even if she is going through a challenging time, she'll still be there to help build you up.

High Tea Bridal Shower

James' cousin Theressa, is getting married in a couple weeks! But before a wedding, there's always a bridal shower, and we Heikoop wives were invited to her High Tea Bridal Shower - complete with hats. :) I borrowed a few from a dear woman in our church who owns some darling hats. :) I was going to wear this one, but switched to a pink fascinator in the end - with Diane's approval. :) Little Amy came too, wearing her bonnet.
Aunt Em, Theressa - the bride, Aunt Mary and Aunt Nel.
Some of the elegant food that was prepared. You felt like a proper lady eating all those delicacies. :) A neat shower, and so beautifully planned.

Snapshots

Just when I think I'm done catching up on the blog, I remember I have the pictures off James' phone. :) So here they are! Random ones from the last few weeks.
The little peanut going to sleep after bathtime, with her "bottel" as she calls it.
Swinging at the park in the big swings.

Katy and Erik fall asleep beside/on top of each other. So sweet. Pray their bond as siblings will stay close.
Another sleeping picture of our littlest angel.
Absolutely love this picture. Little Laura, watching our neighbor's dogs. Aren't those pigtails, just so perky? :)
Brother Mark stretching out his back during a long work day in the chapel gym. (they were putting up sound panels all day) He's like 30 feet up or so.
Getting ready to go on a walk on Mother's day.
Two cousins - Laura and Reuben. Almost could be taken for twins.
Daddy took them on a trip to Home Depot, and they all got to sit on a tractor. Such fun!
Swinging at a park. Erik has just learned how to pump himself now -
Laura with our neighbor boy who came along.
Daddy - after the baby finally fell asleep....
And now, I'm all caught up. Thanks to all of you who look at my "family" blog. :)

May Long Weekend

We had such a glorious long weekend. I had made a huge to do list for around the house, and we actually managed to get most of it done by middle afternoon on Monday. So, we packed the kids up, and went to Webster Falls in Hamilton - meeting up with Ben, Deanna, the kids, William, Mark and friend Amir. We all brought our own quick picnic supper, i.e. McDonalds. :) chatted, and the kids either played catch with Uncle Mark, or rolled down the hill.
Here's our superman - Reuben.
The girl cousins - Amy and Eden.
Uncle Ben and Katy rolling down the hill - soo cute.

Eden is so cute and so chunky- love this pink pumpkin.

The pretty area.
Katy enjoying a shoulder ride on Uncle Will. They have such great uncles.

Hudson holding his mommy's hand.
Eden chilling in the Ergo.
Will using his iphone - we two have camera wars... :)
Going where no stroller has dared to go before... maybe. :)
Cuties - they were posing for Uncle William, and I managed to grab a shot.
Daddy with three of the four.
Laura's turn in the Ergo.
Now, there's a lot of pictures of Laura here - it's hard to pick my favorite as she's just too cute.

See what I mean... she's a keeper.
This shot is from William  :)
Love this one of Mark, Amir, and little Erik - sticking his head over the bridge.
Katy was thrilled to get her feet wet in the stream.
Watching. Very seriously it would seem.
Erik got to go in too - love this of them in the water.
Awww...
Peeking under the bridge.

That's a big waterfall, just so you know. The little fence line above the falls, helps get a bit of perspective of how tall it really is. Such a pretty place. Loved our evening there.
