Trip Out West - Part 1

After a couple days of packing, many hours spent on medical forms for flying with Michael, many may hours spent to get exemptions (which we didn't up needing - thank God!) we were at the airport with Amy - our longtime friend and nurse of Michael's.

After we went through security and waiting, I fed Michael - but the food was so thick, that it sprayed all over the airport walls/carpets/us... twice... lol. Oh man... good start.
We were fairly efficient for how many of us there were. Katie had Adele, James had Jason, and Amy helped with all the medical stuff.

The flight went pretty well - other than Michael need some oxygen. We had a few issuses with getting him going on it, but once it was figured out, Michael was fine.

Happy threesome.
When we landed in Winnipeg, Marlene picked us up, and we drove to the farm for a quick lunch, and time to see how their home was going before starting to drive to SK for the night.
Uncle Marvin meeting Michael.

After so many weeks of serving us while we were in the NICU, Valerie finally got to meet Michael.
Such a quick fun time.
Then off to Will and Amanda's for the night. We got to see some of Amanda's family which was special - kids had fun on the waterslide, and I twisted my ankle. :)

Then it was off to the farm the next morning!
It was a longer day of traveling but we got to the farm about 8 and had supper and got all settled. so good to be with everyone!
I got to help Andrew with moving cows one morning  - which was a fun experience.
And James and I got to go on a date, canoeing down the river together. It was so nice. We had planned to go tubing all together the next day, but because we had just gone down it, James and I thought through everything, and decided to bring Michael too.
And it was such a blast!
We got him all safely on the canoe - and had his emergency stuff ready - the extra vent was waiting at the end of the line if we needed it, and we we were ready. (It's a pretty slow and shallow river - you can pretty much stand up and it's above your waist the whole time)

The dude stayed dry, and loved it. We had such a special - normal time all together.

We made it! Cuddles and a hot dog picnic for us all.

Jason enjoyed all the quad rides he got over those two weeks.
