My Trip out West

I was able to fly out west to spend time with family there in the beginning of January. It was such a treat - made possible by A&R. :) Said goodbye to this guy early in the morning and me and Adele flew away.
She did so great on the plane.
Stopped in to see Cameron and some of his kiddo's after mom and dad picked us up at the airport.
That evening - I was able to go to Karina's blessing party - that Rebecca had put on for her. A special celebration to commerate Karina becoming a young woman. There was amazing food - some games, and a time where a bunch shared some thoughts with Karina about things maybe we knew when we were growing up.

The boys getting to meet Adele.
 Playing games one evening.

 Loves to cuddle.

Got to see Jo and Sharla for a little bit which was special. :)
Adele relaxing and napping at Becca's house. I spent the days with Andrew and Rebecca's family and we did some projects around the house which was so fun to do! I loved it all, and then in the evening I'd catch up with mom and dad and Anne-Marie. (who was studying in the daytime) Such a great mix.

Us two after a busy work day. :) Such a good time with this gal.
 And with this guy.
And this girl who's eyes are almost closed with laughter. :)
Getting Adele asleep for me again.
Then the 5 days were over so soon, and it was time to leave...
Getting in a snuggle with Grandma Unrau at the home fellowship.

 Us ladies.

That afternoon, dad, mom and A-M drove us to the airport and homeward bound I went... But so thankful for that time with everyone there. And happy to get home as the next day was Erik's birthday!

Turning 35

Halfway to 70. :)
James and the kids gave me a sweet breakfast in bed before church - then we were invited to the Rob & Miranda's where Miranda and Mom made a lovely meal for us.

We had a couple couple's over for supper and Shantel - and Diane came later for some games. A fun evening with everyone. I really enjoyed the day.
Me and my blessings.
Katie made the cake for me and decorated it as well. Pretty proud of her.

Heikoop Get Together - January 1st, 2020

Heikoop Christmas Day!
We all met at the chapel in the mid-morning - enjoyed a hot chocolate bar - thanks to Deanna - and after visiting for a while, had a delicious turkey meal.

The kids had fun with all the different types of chipits - and sprinkles!

The new guy there is Bobby's - now Rachel's fiancee. :)

The afternoon was full on making a real go cart with scraps and an actual motor. James had gotten all the stuff - or what we thought was all the stuff ;) and the two teams were competing against each other. It was pretty intense. :) All the guys figuring out how to put everything together - and the girls bringing the creative side... and it was fun to see how they made it all happen!
Meanwhile, us three ladies ^^ plus Tim - entertained the younger ones with a few group games.

We did a Christmas Carol Scavenger Hunt and then they had to put it all together.

Hot Potato type game with candy as a prize!
Hudson and my older two kids made a bunch of these paper snowflakes to hang all over the main room. And Sarah brought her wonderful lights to add to the ambiance.
And these ladies watched the younger ones.

Dressing up to get to the chocolate bar. :)

Watching the teams put on the finishing touches.

So the end result was that the motors were missing a part to actually make the run - otherwise these machines would have been amazing! Too bad after all that work, but it definitely kept a bunch of people occupied and working together. :)

Doing presents for the kids, after a snack supper. Then it was the annual white elephant game for the adults. :)

Then it was time for a massive cleanup, and get the kids home to bed! A wonderful start to our year.
