Ohio Trip

We did a stateside trip to Michigan and Ohio for two reasons:
1. Visiting Mark & Jennelle - and meeting their darling Ariana! I was able to do a little photoshoot with her the next morning before we left for...
2. Visiting Mom and Dad Heikoop in Ohio for a couple days - and then James and Dad going to a Men's Conference at Alistair Begg's Church near Cleaveland, OH.
Isn't this darling sweet? I don't do many newborn shoots anymore - but enjoy the snuggles when I can!

Wonderful family.

Jennelle's parents were visiting from Zambia - so we got some with all of them together.
At the place where Mark and Jennelle are renting are a bunch of vintage stuff - so the kids got to enjoy them.

Every boy needs a tire swing.

Stuck in the van while we packed up - not too impressed.
Then onwards to Ohio.
Bathroom stop.
And at mom and dad's. These two got to sleep together in a big bed- which worked pretty good. :)
Going for a walk together.

Catching a happy signal with her little "antenna".

Making wooden cars - a present from Jennelle.

At the playground with Oma and me.

They had a merry-go-round - which is super fun!
Even Oma joined in the fun!

This is their home that they are fixing up - it's looking pretty wonderful!

So, while the guys were away - mom and I did some stuff with the kids, organized at the house -then a day or so later, we started towards the Cleaveland area to meet up with them - and did a bunch of fun stops along the way. The first one being a small petting zoo.

such a cute little goat. :)

The big horse and Erik.
Holding a baby chick.
The next stop was Pizza and ice-cream at this little store. Very yummy.
Then to the hotel where we met up with the men on their supper break. Afterwards they went back to the conference, and the kids did more swimming...
And I dropped my phone in the pool while videoing them.. haha... I tried calling them over to get it, but realized they would be a bit slow - so jumped in after it - all my clothes on and grabbed the phone.
Thankfully - after drying out all night - it is fine- no issues with it - thankful to God for that - and for my lifeproof case which is worth every penny. :)
Happy swimmer

The next day after lunch, we headed home -
A bathroom and exercise break this time. :)

Reality - sadness and joy...
What it's like to try to take a group shot - only a few look my way. :)
Twirling around for momma.
Erik got a new soccer ball while in the states so he and James had some fun kicking it around.

And my tired baby. Who was sick, most of the way home-  and for the next week. Probably teeth - but she was still so good. : )
Another family trip with good memories.

  1. This may be an odd question but what is Janelle's maiden name? She looks so much like a girl I used to pen pal with from Zambia. Growing up I always went to a ladies conference from the Assemblies and I was paired up with a Janelle.
    Blessings,
    Diane
