Henry and Heather - parents to eight, are getting two more! Two little boys are waiting in China - and on the day that this is posted, they will be in Asia, spending the first whole day their two little sons!! At the beginning of last year -2014- Henry and Heather decided, after much leading from the Lord, to begin the huge adoption process - and 12 months later, they left to go get their boys.
But before they left, and on the day of the Heikoop Christmas - (Jan 2) their church in New York put on a shower for them! And a bunch of us sister-in-laws were able to go, and then join up with everyone after at Henry and Heather's place for the Christmas party.
The lovely cake made by one of the church ladies.
Everything was Asian inspired.
Heather talked about the journey, and what in looked like for them. She also showed a video by their adoption agency about what "gotcha" day looks like. (the day when the parents meet up with their adopted children) Yes, I had tears. So neat to hear how God has led them. And Heather is such a great speaker.
Some of the girls. (so nice that the Dyck clan could be around too - they had just arrived for Tim and Lannette's upcoming wedding)
And Amanda - William's fiancee was there too! :)
At the end, there was some prayer - which was neat.
Two waiting stuffies, and two empty hats... but pretty soon, the wait and emptiness is over.
