Flying back to Alberta

July 24-29th...or something like that. :) It was such a special treat to go home and see everyone. It only could have been better if James was with me. But since he had to work, I got to go and see most of the family, and sing in Granum with them.

A familar sight that I miss seeing and hearing...my Daddy playing his Alvarez...love you Dad!

Anne-Marie the cutie pie...make a 'welcome back' supper for me. :)

And Rebecca....who I love dearly as well... :)

It was special to see Grandpa and Grandma again, and of course to hold the dolly Karina. The little toddler didn't seem to remember me as much which was kind of sad, but she will one day. :)

My precious mom....we were just about to leave for Granum, so I went around and got some more pictures of people and the house before we left.

The Fehr Family Estate....I can't wait till we have our own place that I can help make pretty!

Little brother Timbo and me.

Singing at the Willow Creek Gospel Jamboree.

Miss singing with my matchy matchy sisters. :)

Like auntie Liz, like neice Karina....we're pretty cool.

It was so special to see Shannon Daae again, and to meet her little baby girl.
Rebecca and Karina reading "Love Talk Starters" - she knows how to train her kids to ask questions. :)
Shannon's little doll. I got to hold her when the Daae's were singing which was special.
Seeing the Collin/Langemann girls again was so special - miss them a bunch. That was the day I found out the Erin is to be a mom. :)
Karina driving us....
Hearing her voice amplified for one of the first times. :)
Singing in Nanton on the last evening before us girls headed up to Calgary to take me to the airport the next morning.Rebecca and I matching together. :)
Saying goodbye once again with tears....I hate goodbyes....

...but I love 'hello's' to my husband. :) It was so awesome to come off the plane to him! We eventually made it home after some car trouble. :) I love my James.

Some of July life in Ontario

Sarah and I in our lovely cooling pool.
Trying to dive - I did get better, but it sure took me a while to get the hand of it. :)
All of us "Windmill Girls" at Swiss Chalet one evening. A goodbye party in a way for both Nelly and Sarah.
At our church's Sunday School Picnic. James was working so I went with Sarah and co. Sarah did my face-painting....everyone thought I was pretty cute and defintely a newlywed. :)
At Michelle and Tim's wedding a couple hours north - just a few minutes away from Lucy Maud Montgomery's home actually...Nelly was a bridesmaid.
James and I before leaving the reception....so happy together. :)

Our Family's Visit....

Dad, Mom, Anne-Marie and Charissa came out for the Ontario reception which was super special. They stayed at 'our place' and after the wedding reception, the next day, I went with them to St. Jacob's Market in Kitchener, ON. It was really werid to be without James, (he was working) but we had fun together!
Us three sisters...for always best friends.
We came back to a 'pool party' with all the neices and nephews and family....we swam and had fun, then opened up our Ontario wedding gifts.
Rachel and I....The Fehr Family singing without me....so neat to see, but I just sat on the pew at Medina and cried and cried....for the most part, singing with them is behind me- so thankful for all the memories we have together. And now, James and I start out together. :) Singing "Seekers of Your Heart" together with Heather on the piano.Having supper together - Charissa is taking the picture. :) Two men....so dear to me.... Saying goodbye... James and I at our place, and saying goodbye to my family.
And they drove off....and I was off to go back to Alberta in a few weeks later. :) SO blessed.

The Second Reception

July 4th, 2008

We had our second wedding reception in Brantford, ON and it was lovely! Almost like having another wedding all over again. We wore our dresses again, more flowers, and another photo shoot. Pretty special...just wish all of the family could have been there. Tim got to watch/hear via webcam so that was good....

One of my all time favorite shots of us....works really well with Psalm 48:14 - one of our marriage verses: "For this God is our God forever and He will be our guide even til death."

Getty all ready - Charissa did us girls hair, and did it beautifully....Julie Michel took the pictures.

Us and the Windmill - one of Mount Pleasant's icons. :)

We are actually looking at two tombstones...one say's "Lizzie" and the other says "Husband"....a good reminder that life is short -and enjoy every minute...
One of the events of the evening was a baking competition, and it was great...the men (one of which was my very own daddy!) had to compile ingredients of their choice together and then it was baked, and James and I had to choose which one was the best....it was so fun.
My Heikoop siblings singing a special song to me - "Welcome to the Family" which mean so much to me....
James and I on the horse that Dad H. made for the reception... lots of people had their pictures taken on it...
...like these two cute girls on it...love the contrast of the red aprons and purple dresses - part of the Red Hat Society maybe?
We sang "Proclaim the Glory of the Lord" at the beginning of the reception for the people there.... The End... :) All in all a lovely time - and thanks to all who made it possible. :)

Our First Home

Our first place: Pleasant Hill Farm on McGill Avenue, just 3 minutes from the Windmill. It was so fun to be there, and have our own place, even if we didn't really unpack much. I loved the gravel driveway, the view, the horses just outside the dining room window, the fun pool. Like an extended honeymoon resort, we just enjoyed while someone else fed the horses, and mowed the lawn. :) We stayed there for 2 months, and it was lovely. Pretty soon, I hope, :) we'll have our own home again, and this time, we can unpack and make it into our home!
This room was probably the 'formal' living room at one time, but the lady who owned the house made it into a lounging room.

This was my first attempt at making bread - looked good, but was dense as anything. :) So it was our handy doorstopper for a while. :)
