Alberta Trip-Part 1

That time again - our bi-annual trip out west to visit my whole side - as well catching Marvin and Marlene's family on the way there and the way back.
We left home at 3 p.m. on Friday, and arrived in MB at 6 p.m. on Saturday. We had very minimal stops (other than 2 hours in North Dakota) and drove through the night. Some of us had a nice swim after a lovely supper with them to get refreshed.

Then we left Sunday evening - first stopping by Emily and Chaun - in Carmen for a little bit. So nice to catch up with them! Sure miss Emily and her help around the house... but she may be coming back in Sept. :)

Then it was another 14 hours through the night - getting into Medicine Hat around 6:30 - and had a special breakfast at Perkins since it opened early. It is always on the chaotic side with all the kiddos. Spilled water all over me - had to get completely changed - and food everywhere... but it's fun.
Then it was a quick shopping trip at Superstore in the deserted store that early, and off to the farm!
Dress up time with Auntie Annie.

Water time.
Jason just loves the water.
Playing monoply.

She is the best auntie.

Before we left, Erik had had an ear ache, but I thought it would get better - and we tried so many things - poor guy, it hurt pretty bad. But it wasn't getting better. So instead of his whole time at the farm being ruined, I finally took him to emerg. in Milk River. It took two trips in one day, but all it was, was a plugged ear - and maybe swimmers ear, cause a few drops after getting some wax out, and he was fine. Thankful!
One of the projects we did while we were there, was to finish Charissa's old playhouse/studio.
Imachantia.
So James drywalled it, we mudded and painted it, and had the kids help clear the huge amount of brush around it.

The crew.

Dad wanted to make a waterslide for the reunion. So a friend - Mr. Wahl rotor tilled up the hill, and then we worked to get all the rocks and smooth it all out. Then the tarp was laid - fought with - and railroad ties eventually laid down.

Dad had a tank on the top so we could get a good flow going - it turned out well.
Then everyone came!! And it was time for food, fellowship, pictures, and fun.

Having all these girl cousins together was such fun!
