Alberta Trip-Part 3

I hadn't been tubing since before we were married I think... so this was pretty special!! Andrew and most of his kiddos, and the sisters and us went down the river.

Then Mom, Tim and Dad met us at Writing on Stone (with Jason, ) for a picnic supper - Rebecca joined us too!
Then the next day it was time for Charissa and Tim to leave....

Doing his fun Uncle bit.
I made my sister pose for a few minutes - cause you know... that light :)
Being a ferocious dad and uncle.
Goodbye hugs.

Us three.
Five out of Seven.
Uncle Tim and the boys.
The next day, we headed to Waterton with Anne-Marie and Momma.

Mom made a wonderful picnic lunch for us, and then we started the trek to Bertha Falls.
They just recently opened up the trails since the fire from the year before had closed them all. It was crazy to see how all the trees were burnt, and even right by the town - the fire line went to the houses backyards - like 20 feet from them.
Within about 15 minutes of hiking, most of my kiddos felt like they were done in. :) Yup - we're not quite as strong as the country cousins, but that's why we brought Daniel and Karina along - to help with stamina issues. I also put an Odyssey on for a few kids to listen as they walked, and that really helped.

Finally we made it to the refreshing stream just down from the falls.
We got wet, drank lots of water and cooled down.

The hike back started - and it went much better.

At the lookout half way.
James carried at least one person pretty much the entire way. At one point he had three kiddos on him. Strong man. :)
Still so much beauty among the burnt mountainside.
During supper, Leanne was trying to eat when she fell asleep... so tired.

Then a few hours later, she was ready to go again!
So she enjoyed some late night cereal with daddy.
