Trying to take a picture of all of us... quite the feat. Shantel came and clicked these for us. Very sweet to do that in front of almost 70 opinionated people. :)
As you can see - William really added to the shot.
All because of the two in the middle.
And this is what happens if you survive the picture taking event - candy.
Duck Duck Goose with Hannah and Uncle William while dinner was being made.
Sarah - the invalid. As she was carrying a bunch of stuff in the chapel, she fell down the stairs - spraining her foot. So she was wheeled around, and looked after - tho in pain. A trooper.
The girls - the baby holders. :)
Our dinner together.
Henry's happy face
After lunch - Nel and Peter organized a game for all adults, with everyone watching and cheering. She split us into two groups, and had us compete against each other.
The first was the "Electric Chair" where William and Brad had to sit against a wall holding a book - and whoever lasted the longest won.
Will won, but that must have been painful.
The next one was Mom and Marlene vs. Dad and Deanna - finishing off a painting scene that Nel had done.
Brad reaching for the turtles. :)
The finished work - Dad's side won. :)
Then Dee and Mom had to bowl against each other - and Dee's side won too.
Then the Musical competition. Pairing one pianist with one non-pianist Heather and Ben vs. Miranda and Mark - they each had to play "Joy to the World". I think Ben and Heather did the most creative one, but everyone else voted for Miranda and Mark. : )
Then the Skilled Driver's Competition. West vs East - Henry and Diane vs. Marvin and Amanda - they each drove matching mini vans - the driver being blindfolded with the co-pilot instructing them to turn, reverse and park in the assigned parking spot. It was pretty funny - and the West won.
Back inside - my little man.
Then it was Guys vs. Girls - Tim and Jonathan vs. Lannette and me, trying to do those metal hook puzzles.... ahhh - no good at all. And the other team - won.
And to finish the game off, Nel had Rob and James wrestle. It was quite the event, and I pictured both of them laying in bed the next day.
James won - oh yeah man. :)
Then while some played volleyball, Dee and I did games with the younger kids -and Dad some drawing guessing games.
A bunch of the girls, mom's watched the youngest ones in here.
The munchie area. :)
Amanda got a hockey puck smacked at her earlier in the day, so she was good competition with Sarah's ankle swelling.
Then it was gift time. The teenage cousins had an exchange, as well as the younger cousins. Then the couples did a simple one - with the main gift being you take out for supper whoever you give (or who ends up with your gift in the white elephant game) your gift to.
Nel handed out gifts to the kiddos from Portugal - and everyone got their Heikoop calendar.
Then it was big time cleanup, and then to our homes to put the kids to bed...and for some of us to stay up til midnight.
Happy New Year.
