A dear friend from our church - Sonya - invited me and the kiddos over, for a field trip day. To learn: How to make sourdough bread. This gal did an amazing job - first reading "The Little Red Hen", and talking about the process of bread, and then moving on to actual making it, and kneading it.
She's a natural teacher, and does so well with her kiddos too.
Sonya had three different dough's done up - at different stages - so they could do it all without having to wait for the bread to rise - and then they made lunch at the end! Pizza's. I enjoyed it so much. It always is a little treat to have someone else teach for them for a bit - but with putting a lot of heart into it.
All the kids loved it - and we made quite the mess for Sonya. :)
