Erik's 5th birthday

Our little Erik turned five! He was so excited - getting dressed even before having his breakfast in bed!

He got yogurt and granola, cheese, toast with peach jam (his fav) and a fried egg with hot chocolate. (he adores hot chocolate) Pretty happy kid.
For his birthday, we invited some of the cousins and a friend to meet us at an indoor playground about 15 minutes away. Here's little Joel looking pretty adorable.
'Nessa going down the slides.
Amy trying to work the scooter but just straddling it.
Saw all the kids getting together and found out they were looking at each other's socks!

Us mom's talking - on the floor! You must be a mom if you visit on the floor.
Erik and his friend Leah.
Then lunch time - buns, juice boxes, carrots and chips -with cupcakes for dessert.

Was nice Oma could join the party too.
And Erik got a few presents too - Lego sets, and a neat barn puzzle.
Very blessed kiddo.
Hilarious Leah.

And Katie wanting to try it too!
Then homeward - and we had Hudson, Rueben, and Eden for the afternoon while Ben and Deanna were meeting someone over buying a house - in Brantford! So we had a nice afternoon - the cousins trying to put some Lego sets together, and me and Katy catching up on school from the morning off.

I got to help them follow the directions, which was quite fun for me. :)

And here is his quad cake.
Erik suggested adding "mud" to the quads so it looked abit more realistic.
Ben and Deanna stayed for supper which was awesome - made it more like a party for Erik!

Opening the last of his gifts. :)
Looking at Rush Hour Jr. which is a perfect gift Mr. Logistical man - he is pretty good at it too. :)
Then Ben and Deanna told James and I to run out for a bit, so we did a couple errands and stopped in to see Mr. Kenyon who was dying at the hospital.
We joined Will, Amanda and some of his family in singing hymns all together around him. Then we said our earthly goodbyes to him - with some tears - and then went back home. (he ended up entering glory a week later). Such an amazing man of 97 years.
We came home to these two "playing" Battleship. So cute.
Will and Amanda came over for a few minutes and Rob had also stopped in while we were out - that boy was well loved. Then it was time for bed after a special day!
