July 2020 -Trip Out West- Part 3

The next day - Friday - we did "The Amazing Race" - all organized by Alanna and Felicity. Split up into a bunch of teams, we all had to accomplish many different activities before the next... a fun team challenge.

Started off with running to the third floor and naming/unscrambling the Canadian provinces/territories and capital cities.
Jason playing on the horse we've had since before my time.
There were knots to learn how to tie, then playing a game of Dutch Blitz with the team next to you...

...figuring out the flavors of chips with your eyes closed...
...running all the way to the chicken coop, getting a water balloon, carrying it all the way back and getting your last waiting team member and running back to the chicken coop...

...tying an egg in a bunch of provided rags/boxes/tape/packaging... and dropping it from the zip line... if it didn't crack - you moved on...
SIDENOTE: this girl was our official shoe thief. I was constantly looking for my kids shoes -and dear Nontanya was the adorable culprit. :)

Then a team member had to go down the zip line holding as many balls as their age...

Daniels's shirt was stuffed with bouncy balls.

Then, each team had to fill out answers to questions about Alanna and Felicity... memorize a bible verse as a team...
...Off to the playhouse for the last clue.
The winning team - they were just ahead of us.
And our team - we were so close - we all had some prizes - so sweet. Dear Bethany did so well, with her crutches.
Then a delicious meal...

Quick picture of all the girl cousins before Alanna had to go home for a Weekend Bible Quizzing Competition.

And we added "chore time" for all the grandkids this year. Teamed some older kids with the younger ones, and they all did so great, cleaning bathrooms, entry ways, and dishes.
In the afternoon, the kids did a ton of zip lining - thanks to Uncle Cam, Uncle Andrew and Daniel. I really wanted Jason to try it - but he wasn't too thrilled, until he started down the line - then I think he was just in awe...

But he was scared and clung onto Cameron... I felt bad, but I said - "now down you go. :)"

Loved the swings - with Isaac pushing him.

Doing some target practice.

Mom hitting the target.

Such an amazing view.
In the evening - the kids had fun with the Giant Dutch Blitz game.

Ta Dad!
