Sick Kids Burn Picnic - June '19

Toronto Sick Kids has a yearly picnic for families who has a child that has been affected by burns. And now that we qualify now :), and both James and I felt like we should go, we headed up to Brampton to go to this lovely conservation area where they had multiple tents up of things to do, a nice BBQ, and swag stuff for the kids. It was a great time. Connecting with the nurses that we knew well by then - other parents and hearing their stories, and just having fun.
Their face painting crew was pretty great. The girls loved it.

They had some hemp designs done too - Katy and Erik made some wooden toys at a booth put on by Home Depot.

Everyone got to pick one ice cream or slushie from the ice cream truck.
The little guy enjoying his cone - the reason we were there. :)

All of us. I really enjoyed the day, even though usually -most of these types of events I don't like going - as it's too crazy, or not safe, especially with trying to keep your eye on 6.
But this was in a area of a park where only us "burn" families could go, and the kids could run from tent to tent, doing crafts, bouncy castles, playing soccer, reptile petting, face painting, hemp, home depot crafts, and such like. So we all enjoyed it - and felt blessed we could go. And we even got the nurses to check his burn and they were so happy with how's it looking. :)
When we got back, we started on our bookshelves that we had gotten the day before. The 2 oldest wearing their Home Depot aprons, and with Jason helping, we accomplished our task.

Love him watching how the drill worked.
Katy wanted a nice picture with her face paint before washing it before church the next day. :)
