A few days after Anne-Marie left, Andrew and Rebecca came!! They had been with Becca's sister in Michigan for a week, and then made it up here! Everyone was so excited! We had 14 kids and 4 adults in our home, and it worked out so well. One of the first things we did is Rebecca and I (and Adele) did a big Costco trip - she wanted to make a bunch of meals for us and I hadn't shopped for a bit, so that was quite a blast.
Then our helpers unloaded!
Rebecca getting a baby snuggle in while we watched the guys fix our dishwasher that had been broken since May!
Not the most flattering shot of my handsome brother - but he was getting rid of all the germs we had due to a dishwasher issue. :)
Karina had her 12th birthday while she was here, and so all the cousins sang "happy birthday!"
We were able to all go to the African Lion Safari - which we had never been, so it was perfect!
The kids loved all the wildlife and Rebecca the faithful teacher, made different observations. :)
The crew in the other vehicle. James had to troubleshoot for a project that afternoon, so he was only with us for the first 30 min.
Then it was 3 adults with 14 kids...slightly outnumbered! But it was a quieter day at the Safari - a couple days before closing so that worked out perfectly!
All the cousins. Waiting on the train to come get us.
Beauties
Two cuties.
Erik wanted to try his hand at some photography skills. :)
Pretty neat Elephant show - we all really enjoyed it. Some of us got the 3 different animal shows in twice as we had to wait for James to come pick us up.
Two cousins :)
On the playground. :) A lovely day.
The next day we packed up a bunch of bikes - borrowed some from two other family members, and got food packed, and made our way to Niagara Falls so we could bike some of way to Fort George.
We took this shot, and then it started to pour for a few minutes... and then it stopped for a bit and we began...
When he was still dry... It rained on and off the whole 10k that we biked. The kids were so good about it all.
James stopped by a fruit seller and got some grapes to share on the way.
We finally reached Fort George - and then James and Andrew got a taxi back to the vans, and us moms stayed with the very wet and cold kids at the tourist bathrooms - til they closed them - but we warmed up in them the best we could...
After 45 min of waiting - the guys returned and we got everyone in and turned up the heat!
Ahhh! We crazy people. :) Such fun and cold memories made! Then it was home and to bed. :)
One night of Code Games. We went on another bike ride which was really fun, and had dinner with Mom and Dad Heikoop by the Windmill. Lots of great talks, Rebecca and I got a couple lovely walks in, and just enjoyed being together. Thankful for these guys and the sacrifices they made to come and serve, and love!
Andrew is showing James how to work Instagram... haha. :) Good times.
