Cuteness Personafied

I took some "baby" pictures of my fast-growing-up-little-man
Such a little boy - with the striking blue eyes...
And then he fell asleep - so I took pictures of that time too... :)

Bits of June

Another smattering of pictures...
Nathan and Katelyn playing in the park... Nathan is Kate's best friend. :) We will so miss having them nearby. Yes, their house is now sold, and though they are not 100% sure where they will be living, it won't be quite as close anymore... but it is an exciting move, and that just means we'll go visit and have more quality time together in the future.
Katie with my shades... Becca, are they too big? :)
Then on Tuesday (the 28th) Josh and Ariana came to visit us! Amazing for us to have another "out west" couple come for an overnight stay! We had a lovely time of fellowship, walk to the Windmill and a few games of tennis together.
The men talking as they finished up their game of tennis. I guess us girls were slowing them down a little so they decided to have a pro game while we talked. :)
The next morning, we had a lovely breakfast at the Windmill for they got ready to leave.
 Us two with the kiddos.
And the last of Josh and Ariana - thankful for their open hearts and friendship.

Katelyn's Two!

Our precious one year old, turned TWO on Monday. :)
What a sweetheart she is, so full of life, and quite the smart kiddo. Can't imagine life without her.
To celebrate her day we went to the zoo; her first zoo experience. She loved it.
So this post is full of pictures...probably too many...but I wanted to document it all.... of her special day.
Starting with breakfast: pancakes with fruit, whipped cream and our very own home'made' maple syrup.
Then off to the Brantford Twin Valley Zoo we went. It's about 25 acres of land, a good variety of animals, has free parking, and is only 20 minutes away. All in all, a perfect fit.
The good old dromedary camel
Katelyn watching the prairie dogs - reminiscent of Alberta...sniff...sniff.... She'll only know what "gophers" are, because of a zoo - tragic. :) (at least, visits to the farm will help her to experience real animal life)
Feeding a fawn some grass.
And of course, one of the best things about the zoo, was their playground. :)
They had a "Creature Show" every hour, and showed all the kids, different animals, and allowed you to touch many of them. I found that quite interesting, and had fun seeing how many Katelyn would touch. If the other kids screamed when the staff brought out the lizard, etc. then she seemed to stay away from them. :)
The big lizard thingy. :)
The Alligator - I don't know if she touched this one, but she touch an albino snake and a few other ones.
The darling fox. Katelyn got all excited about it when I told her it was a baby fox. She has this thing about babies. :)
Touching goats at the petting zoo area.
Okay...so not too thrilled about it. :)
I had fun doing a little 'portrait' time with her as we walked along a shaded area. :) This one wasn't focused well, but I loved her smile. :)
I love this one....so cute!
We tried getting a family shot before leaving the zoo, by their gorilla statue - but the lady (who apparently knew lots about cameras :) didn't get the little guy in. :)
So we tried again - somewhere else - to get another family-at-the-zoo shot. (using the timer) but chopped off our heads... :) Then it was home for a much needed nap, and much needed clean up house time! We got everything done right before our "guests"/family arrived.
James set up a market tent in the backyard, made a large birthday poster, and cut the grass before Rob, Sarah, Mark, Heather and Nathan came. (Henry wasn't able to make it that night....but we still had fun)
Katelyn and Nathan playing on the deck with Katelyn's new dolly (from Heather) and baby gear.
The guys had left for a bit, and came back with an incredible present for Katelyn....
A swing!! One of the ones they sell at the Windmill - they get these in from Ohio. What an incredible & generous gift from a bunch of the aunts and uncles! She'll get a lot of use from this gift! It was perfect, as James and I had been thinking about buying one sometime...
Then we had supper: BBQ chicken, roasted potatoes, strawberry/almond salad, and bread.
And we had made a simple but delicious ice-cream cake for something different. :) It was tasty, and Katelyn did blow out both candles by herself.
Mark and Erik - I just love Erik's shirt. :)
Katelyn enjoyed her presents... alot... :) This wooden toy stacker was from Auntie Anne-Marie.
Grandma and Grandpa Fehr got her a beautifully illustrated Beatrix Potter book, which she has read to her before bed now.
We got her a wooden train/track set. I had found it at a garage sale for $8. :) It is perfect for her, and for Erik to play with in the future. Auntie Sarah also gave her a darling little puppy...that girl was blessed.
Another family picture - wow - three in one day. :)
Uncle and Nephew.
Getting kissed by Auntie Sarah and my darling Two year old girl
Katelyn's now annual picture with the puppy dog. :)
The blessed little girl with all of her presents. :) She had so much fun playing with them all today - the day after joys. I was able to get lots done too because of that. :)
Thankful for our Katie - our two-year old.

Father's Day 2011

A family picture on Father's Day.
We just had a simple and full day... I did have a nice breakfast and all planned for James,. but it didn't quite work out the way I had intended... but James, like always, goes with the flow, and doesn't think about what could have been. :) A good day with those at church, at the Windmill for lunch, and after evening service, practiced singing for a couple upcoming events. Just before bed, James got his "daddy's card"....
I'm so blessed to have a husband who is a great dad to our darling little ones, and
my own daddy who has taught me how to live.

Sunday School Picnic

June 18th was our annual Sunday School Picnic, organized by Ben & Deanna - with help from lots of other willing hands. They had some fun ideas for the activities: 3 teams, 3 countries, and 3 different games for each country. The team that won the most games, well...won. :)
Ben and Dee, organizing the event.
Erik the pudgy. :) He was so cute, and so good. The more elderly ones in the chapel were looking after him a lot of the afternoon - such a help. :) Mr.Thompson (81 or so) was one of those who entertained the little gaffer.
Face painting - Sarah and Tim are doing it here, but Deanna and others helped out. The three teams had their "identification" painted on them. (there was, the Tigers, Polar Bears and The Periwinkle Penguins - my team :)
One of the three countries and their leader - Mexico... and Alex and Mike. :)
 Auntie Diane & Erik
Shelly (and Shane) were the leaders for China. The games for that country were: build the longest structure out of straws and marshmallows, look for gummy candy in rice containers using only chopstick, and I can't remember the third.
Katelyn played around the groups, with the toys...
...and on the bouncy castles. :) She was tired by the end of the day.

One of the young women in our church works for Proctor & Gamble, and had a bunch of extra freebies to give away - so she organized a ladies bowling time...whatever your ball hit, you claimed. :) I got a Oil of Olay face cleanser and purple candle! Quite fun! Everyone enjoyed it!!! And there were some nice prizes.
Shane giving a devotional/gospel message to the kids and adults there. We had a few unsaved kids/parents out, which was neat.
The BBQ-er's. :) Marc and Micah - the food was delicious, and we all went home happy, and tired. :)
Thankful to be a part of such a great church fellowship. So neat to see the body of Christ work together.
