Shovels & Rocks

This thing. She got into some mud, and apprantly she loved it.

Then something went wrong...not sure what. :)
We redid our garden gravel to just rocks, as opposed to our dirt with some rocks in it. Go away weeds...
Erik was a big help to James, and with such a good attitude.

 Throwing it in.
 So boyish.
Probably no the best footwear for the job, but so cute.
 A lone geranium at f/1.4 ISO 200 1/620 sec. on a 50 mm.
That night, Elita and Vanessa came over for the weekend, and there's the group having supper. :)

Water Babies

I was doing a children's photo session for some cousins last week, and after the pictures, their kids and ours went swimming in their pool. Talk about fun! They loved it.

And then there is this girl.
See that look?
That's determination (or slightly rebellion) meaning: "I'm going to get back in that pool...
 And here I go..."
 And so she climbs in...
Amy is like a water maniac. Couldn't believe her.
Even when she was totally submerged, after she got fished out, she went right back at it.
Her excitement of water, and just being engulfed in it, is so fun to see - though slightly dangerous. :)
Love her zest for life.

The Little Explorers

This week my kiddo's are going to VBS. Even little Laura.
The theme is: Camp Kilimanjaro, done by Answers in Genesis. They've loved it, and I'm okay with the time I have running around like crazy (with Amy beside me) trying to get a few extra things done. And trying to remember that it's okay to rest a bit too, as I have a cold that makes me feel done in. :)
Today was dress up, so yesterday we went out to Value Village and got Katy some shorts and these two hats, and made the vests out of paper bags - the large leaf bags. It kinda worked... and it made Katy especially, very happy. Vest link: here.
Erik thought the vests were super scratchy, hence the not impressed look. :)
So I'll end off with a happier one of him.

Ice-Cream & Splash Pads

After some Saturday work around the house we headed to the Windmill for some groceries and then off to the Burford Splash Pad for a special treat the kids! And Rob gave the kids some ice-cream cones which was pretty awesome for them

 You are adorable.
Sharing with Daddy

Amy was a bit surprised at the water - and didn't enjoy it a lot at first.
Now, she's a maniac in the water!

And after a picnic supper they played on the playground.

Our Canada Day

Canada Day 2015.
We spent some time doing a few things around the house: tidying the garage, James and I weeding the garden together (great date during quiet time) and such like. Then after naps, we headed off to see some of the waterfalls in Hamilton. We chose Albion, but took a different path at the start so we'd get some exercise in. :)

The kiddo's had fun in the creek down a ways.
Amy loved the water - couldn't keep her out, so we had to hold her up.

Near Albion Falls, which we didn't get to play in, as we were so tired after we took the long trail which didn't lead to it. :) Next time we'll take the 2 minute walk, vs. the 2 hour trek - and up a crazy hill.
Getting all four in one shot.
With Erik falling off - or so he's worried about.
Getting a smile out of Katy - with daddy tickling behind. :)

Cute stuff.
We had some burgers together, then home for a break and after dark went to St. George for the fireworks. The kids loved it!

Love this picture of all of them looking up at the light display.
The end of a fun family day. :)
