VBS - Fruit of the Spirit

VBS time...we had setup the day before, and then it started. :) And you know - it went so well. Everyone worked together great, put effort and time into their part, and we all enjoyed the busy week.
As the songleader, I had fun with Amber this year - we did the high five/shaking hands actions together. She did great - even though I only asked her 1/2 hour before we were teaching it to the rest of the kids.
Craft time - Janice led the crafts, and did a super job.
Our very own "Uncle Zeke" - Shane put a lot of effort into the opening as well as the skits. He learned how to play spoons, speak with a drawl, and made it so fun for everyone.
Another craft time - planting flowers and decorating the pots.
Some of the registration workers - Glenda was our kid counter, re-assurer to me, and encourager to all. :)
Some of our great actors: Caleb and Kirsten, and the great barn that Mark and James made!
 Pat- our faithful soundman.
Mr. McElrea getting right in there and learning the actions along with the kids.

Shantel - who filled in everywhere that week...registration, teaching, acted every night, was my main photographer, and helped wherever, whenever.
Shelly made this great sign for the entrance. :) The fruits of the spirit was our theme.
Janice leading the crafts.
Greg and Steph - the faithful couple.
Doris helping Erik with a craft. :) Erik loved being part of "GPS" as he called it. He was a little young, but since I was running it, he got to come in a bit early. :)
Making "garden cookies" - so cute.

Mike was the teacher - message giver - and he incorporated some more actors into it too which was good.
Amber was a great helper as well - looking after babies, helping with crafts, songs - and with a ready heart.

The County Fun Fair on Friday! We had a great BBQ after some fun games - all organized by Krissy. It was such fun, and everyone had a blast.
 My darling little piggy!!
One of the games was to dress up like a farmer, and run around the barrel and back - relay race. So cute.
 Getting dressed up.

 Cowgirl

 Then time for the food.
And my darling little kitty cat. :) Erik didn't get his face painted - not sure why not, but next year. :)
Brought out my banjo to play "Shortening Bread" and "I'll Fly Away" with Shane on the spoons - man was I rusty. :)
Little escapee from the last presentation.
The last part of the skit - they all did so well.

 A cute couple :)
Most of the actors for the skit.
Everything went so well, and we were thankful for the couple of children that came out for the first time. It was a smaller one, but a good one! Hooray for VBS 2014.

Prepping for VBS

VBS time already! I had been preparing for a while, but I had a prep day for the decor, and Shelly, Steph, Marisa, and Amber came over to help me for the day!
We painted a bunch of farmyard animals - Steph was sweet to do the base coat on most of them.
Laura getting wet in the kiddie pool.
Through the screen door - Kayla.
Working downstairs, painting, gluing, cutting.... and we got it all done! Don't know what I would've done without them.

Jonathan & Sarah's Wedding Shower

It's almost time for their wedding!! As I write this, they have 4 more days to go til they're married. :)
A couple weeks ago, they had their wedding shower at Brad and Diane's - a corn roast, amazing supper, and a fun evening. At the end, I grabbed them for a couple pictures together as the sun was setting... they were my willing models. So even though these were at the end of the night, here they are. :)

The kids had a blast playing a pop the balloon game that Nel had set up for them.
A quick shot, before Jonathan pulled away with the wagon full up of kids and adults. That guy had driven the tractor all the way from the Windmill to Brad's that morning. :)

 Ben and Aunt Liz.
Corinne and Gideon and two of their boys. So neat to see so many people that evening - so many to catch up with.
 Hannah and her cute Emma.
 Waving goodbye.
 The bride. :)
The amazing hard-working Diane and sweet Doris!
The meal was amazing, grilled chicken, sausages, corn, buns, many salads and desserts that others brought - all under a red and white tent...picture perfect it would've been, but I didn't capture that!
 Krissy holding my baby.
Three incredible men - all in their 90's now. All living in their own homes, and all strong men of God.
 Blue eyed Nessa.
Laura pretending to drive the still tractor.
Four cousins playing on the tractor - with some adults watching. :) They weren't completely abandoned!! :)
A great evening... and now on to the wedding.
