Girls in White Dresses...

I dressed my little girl up today.
In my wedding dress.
She was quite excited, not understanding the signifigance of a wedding dress, but enjoying a "pretty dress".
Katelyn wanted to show Daddy her dress.
(just like every girl wants to show that special guy her dress)
It was precious and fun.
(while Erik played with my assortment of lotions on the floor)

One day she'll wear white, if the Lord allows.
Til then, we'll just enjoy life.

Not really here...

Not that any of you are worried...but I am, and will not, (probably anyways) be around much on my blog for a couple weeks. I am experiencing a bit of paradise, (alongside busyness) in that I'm able to take a photo-editing course for the next month. Lightroom 3. Sigh - it's like a dream come true to be taught something, instead of always figuring it out on your own. I'm also taking a bunch of family portraits in the next bit, which is a lot of fun for me. It's quite exciting to see how God is answering my prayers, in first blessing me with a good camera, and being able to use it for other families. Lots to learn and grow in, which is awesome. Hopefully, my pictures will improve. Maybe not a ton in the snapshots I take in living our daily-living-wonderful life, but in my other blog - www.photographybylizabeth.blogspot.com We'll see... everything takes time. Just have to watch that my little ones get lots of love and care in these busy times!

1st Haircut

It was time: first haircut for the hairy cutie. :)
It was most his sideburns; they were long and shaggy. He didn't really like me bringing the clippers close to him. Wouldn't say I blame him. :) (after all, it's me cutting his hair) :)
"don't just stand there taking pictures daddy...save me..."
 All done - and happy.
(now, please don't tell me that the before and after picture doesn't look any different.
He really does look better) :)
Meanwhile, Katelyn is working on pedaling.
She's doing great. Even going backwards.

1st Penny

This little cutie just earned her first penny.
She had found one around the Windmill, lost it, and so had to do a "job" to earn her penny back.
Her job: she had to clear the table with Mommy, and then got this little coin of her own.
She was pretty excited.
And pretty adorable. :)
She took the penny everywhere - slept with it, played with it, until I think she lost it again.
But, I think Katelyn's forgotten - for now. :)
And maybe, if she wants another, she'll have more "jobs" waiting. ;)

Carmel Apple Night

We've carried on the tradition (so far!) of what my family did on Halloween Night: Carmel Apples and a special movie for the family. That night was always so special for us growing up, as we spent the whole evening together in a dark house, savouring the sweet apples and enjoying a good movie.
Katelyn loved her apple. She was pretty excited to finally get her treat.
And James really enjoyed his too. : )
The two of them. Erik was already sleeping by the time we got to our Andy Griffeth show. We had done a quick Walmart trip as well that night, and then had our fun time together.

Uncle Rob Babysits

Rob offered to watch the kids so I could join James at Bible Study last Saturday night for a change. That was really thoughtful. :) And when we came home, Katelyn was super excited to show us that they were making "cookies"!! Rob was pretty adventuresome to bake with two little ones. Erik was sitting on the counter, flour on his pants, and Katelyn was having an absolute blast!
 Making Gingerbread Cookies.
Creative Rob. :)
And they were yummy.
