Snow Day...at last

We finally got some snow - enough to play in. And since it was a Monday, and Daddy was home, that was perfect.

Our finished product...but before that happened...

...these two were hard at work.

While I was with this little man, who fell, headfirst into the snow. He didn't really care for that. So I pulled him around the yard with the sled, and then we sat on the steps to watch these two make this little snowman.

Then it was time to make an angel.

And to look at it.

Then Katelyn wanted to make another one.

So this little snow child was born.

And then we went inside.

Here's our new-to-us, and now dirty van. :)

We were able to get this from a dealer auction - thanks to brother Rob. It has been so great to have a mini van of our own. :) I was excited!! Hopefully it will be a tool used well for the Lord.

Weekend to Remember

Last weekend was very special.

James and I got away together alone, for the first time since our children were born.

We went to Niagara Falls, for a Weekend to Remember - by Family Life. (a Christian marriage conference) Some of our family had been to one, and a few friends, so it came reccomended, and it actually worked out for us to go. Rachel T. babysat for us all weekend, and now that Erik is weaned, (finished 2 weeks before) we could do it!

The speakers, Sharol and Neil Josephson (directors of Family Life Canada) and Sheila and Keith Gregoire did a great job. They were passionate about what they were saying, humble, and fun. It was sweet to see them support their spouse as they would talk.

And James with his new watch. :) He loved it, which made me one happy gal. :)

After the conference (ended Sunday at noon) we went for lunch at Henry and Heather's, saw their home, and made it back to the children later on. We were so excited to see them! They were happy too - especially Erik; Katelyn just loves Rachel. :) So thankful for such great babysitters, and for the opportunity to grow our marriage.

Just Life

As I catch up, there is always a post of everything that has happened in our daily lives, that doesn't fit into a "proper" (whatever that is) post. :) So here is that smattering...

Thanks to my brother who spent a lot of time walking me through the "fixit" stage. I am so glad that's over. It's amazing how violated and awful you can be over this. Thankfully, I only lost one folder of pictures, which was my fault, and now everything is backed up much better!

Lunch Date

Just a few pictures of a date at the Brown Dog with my sweetheart. :) I just loving being with him. 

We had a Groupon, so we had a few dates there, which was super nice.

I had my point and shoot camera with me, so I was trying to experiment. :)

Tim's Bowling Birthday

It was brother Tim's birthday, so we all made it to Hamilton for an evening of bowling - on very short notice I might add. :)

We all had a great night, using up one of those Wag-Jag discounts that Sarah had gotten, and as you can see, bumper cars were in the "discount" too. They had fun, even if they really couldn't control the bumper cars.

This is Tim in a "simulated" hurricane. I guess it felt more like a hair dryer on him...

Whoever invented that machine is rich.

Katie had a blast bowling for the first time. I usually would do the first ball, and then James and Katelyn would take over, often cleaning up from my mistakes. :) It was pretty cute.

It was Mom that beat the socks of everyone that night. I had told her that she had to get at least 2 strikes, which she did in a hurry, and kept on with an incredible score. :)

Erik was a bit fussy that night, so I "ergoed" him. It kept him happy, but my score (which wasn't great anyways!) went a bit lower. :)

Diane is really the cutest one, and is doing great. Only 4 more weeks to go as I post this!!

Christmas Hayride

I know...this is late.

But I'm just getting the pictures off my point and shoot camera that I haven't been using as much lately. :)

So here's some December pictures of our first hayride together.

Our little village does hayrides at Christmas - going around part of the town a few times to get all the children/parents in. There is cookies and hot chocolate, and they play Christmas songs on the ride. :) The kids loved it. Well, Katelyn loved it. Erik enjoyed it. :)
